How Manglik is determined
Mangal Dosha (also called Kuja Dosha) is the classical malefic affliction caused by Mars sitting in houses 1, 2, 4, 7, 8, or 12. The cut is taken from three reference points — the lagna (ascendant), the Moon, and Venus — and the chart is considered Manglik if any of the three cuts flags affliction.
Cancellations applied here follow the multi-pandit consensus that drik panchang’s published Manglik output agrees with: Mars in its own sign (Aries / Scorpio) or exalted (Capricorn); Mars conjunct Jupiter, Moon, or Venus in the same house; and Jupiter casting its 5th, 7th, or 9th sign-aspect onto Mars.
