About kundli

What is a Janam Kundli?

A Janam Kundli is a Vedic astrological birth chart — a snapshot of the sky at the moment and place of your birth. The two anchors are the lagna (ascendant — the rashi rising on the eastern horizon at birth) and the nine grahas (Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, Rahu, Ketu) placed in the twelve rashis.

From the lagna come the twelve bhavas (houses), which carry the karmic themes of the chart — house 1 is identity and body, house 7 partnership and marriage, house 10 career and visible karma, and so on. The default house system here is whole-sign (the classical Vedic default). Equal and Placidus (KP) are also offered.

We also generate the navamsa (D9) — the divisional chart classically read for marriage and the deeper soul-result of each graha — and the Vimshottari Mahadasha, the 120-year time map keyed to the nakshatra of your natal Moon.

Birth data is processed entirely in your browser using the panchang-ts library — the date, time, and place you enter never leave this device.
