महागौरी
Mahagauri
Iconography
A four-armed form of an extremely fair complexion, robed in white, riding a white bull. She holds a trident and a damaru, with the other two hands in the abhaya and varada mudras.
Significance
Parvati after long penance — by Shiva's grace her body became radiantly white, and so she is Mahagauri, "the great fair one". She is worshipped for purity, peace, and the restoration of what was lost.
